Oscar Pistorius Latest Updates: No special treatment for amputee athlete as parole on August is legitimate

By

Oscar Pistorius will be released this August on parole and a lot of the followers of the case are not pleased with the decision. Some speculated that his money and fame may have affected the court's decision for his apparent early release. However, there are people who believe that his early release is perfectly legal.

According to BizNews, the allegations that Pistorius is receiving special treatment do not have a concrete basis. In reality, only few sentences are served completely and this is the standard system not just in South Africa. And since the paralympian was said to be well- behaved inside the prison, this has paved way in his early release.

A statement from the Steenkamps shows that they are quite frustrated with the decision of the court. As shared by ABC, June and Barry Steenkamp believe that 10 months in prison is not enough considering that it was a human life that was taken away. They think that this will send a wrong message to the public.

Meanwhile, Mirror has reported that Jeremy Clarkson made a joke about Pistorius killing of his then girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. There were no mention of Pistorius or anyone involved in the case. However, the gesture appeared very obvious as Clarkson pretended to have shot someone behind bathroom doors.

For the whole duration of the trial, Pistorius stood by his story that he mistakenly thought Steenkamp as an intruder. His physical disability has been used by the defense team stating that his condition heightened his fear. And since they lived in an area where criminal rates are high, his story became believable for some.

Oscar Pistorius' release this August is not the end of his journey. He might face graver charges soon. If proven guilty of murder, a different and harsher life sentence will be summoned.
