To relieve the fans from the tormenting long wait of its March 2016 release, Warner Bros. Pictures has recently unveiled the first official photos of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". The newly revealed stills features glimpses at what to expect from the collision of the man of steel and the dark knight.
Entertainment Weekly has recently released a few never-before-seen photos of the key characters in the highly anticipated live-action film "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice". The stills, according to Slash Film, include Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network", "Now You See Me") as Lex Luthor, but with a healthy mane of hair; a photo of Batman in his steel suit with the bat signal; Henry Cavill's Superman ("The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", "Immortals") being worshiped by a crowd; and a few shots of Ben Affleck ( "Gone Girl", "Argo") as Bruce Wayne, one of which also has Gal Gadot ("Furious 6", "Justice League: Part One") as Diana Prince.
EW also got a few statements from Affleck regarding the iteration of the Caped Crusader, comparing the role to that of Hamlet. "We accept that he's played by actors with different interpretations," Affleck said, calling him the American version of Hamlet. The 42-year-old actor and filmmaker went on to describe the character, saying: "He's at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life." According to him, Batman is on the "verge of being swallowed up by the anger and the rage" which will haunt him in the other manifestations of it. "But this guy is further down the line and has become more embittered and cynical", he added.
Meanwhile, the upcoming superhero film follows the collusion between Batman and Superman, and the new threat that quickly arises, which puts mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", as per Coming Soon's report, also stars Amy Adams ("American Hustle", "Big Eyes"), Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix", "Hannibal") and Diane Lane ("Unfaithful", "Nights in Rodanthe") returning from "Man of Steel", Jeremy Irons ("The Borgias") as Alfred, and Holly Hunter ("Saving grace", "The Incredibles") in a role newly created for the film. As previously reported, Jason Momoa ("Game of Thrones") will also be making an appearance as Aquaman, alongside Grant Gustin ("Glee") as the Flash.
The upcoming film is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio, based on David S. Goyer's screenplay. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder produced the film with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to open worldwide on March 25, 2016.
