Halo 5 Guardians has been getting a lot of fans excited since the first time the title was rumored to come out, to the time it was demoed by Microsoft in the Electronic Entertainment Expo, as well as up to this time. However, there is a bit of a downer to fans of the 343 Industries shooter as a special feature in the game has been taken out. This led to cancellation of orders for the nearing release. With the updates and changes on the game, there is much to go through about how it stands at present.
According to a news report on Halo 5: Guardians, it will no longer include split screen play. One reason would be to maximize the visual experience of players by having a wider view, as opposed to sharing the screen with another person. Because of this, a petition has been raised pleading Microsoft to resolve this issue.
A spokesperson from the publisher explained this decision as noted in Ars Technica where he said, "The decision to remove all split-screen modes was an extremely difficult one for the team, but one that was necessary to deliver the biggest Halo game to date. 343's focus is to ensure that fans get the best Halo experience yet, and the team felt a split-screen experience would compromise the gameplay design and the visual bar they set."
With all this in mind, it has been shown in E3 2015 how Microsoft is seeking to bring the 343 Industries game to a 60fps level in gameplay. It is apparent, as noted in another article, that a lot of work needs to be done on Halo 5: Guardians, particularly that of getting to free enough GPU time, in addition to lowering the resolution transparencies.
Halo 5 Guardians is slated for release on October 27 this year, and is to be played on the Xbox One. For those following the game as well as the franchise in general, be sure to check out this website once in a while.
