iTunes 12.2 Update: New Features And Users’ Bug Complaints

By

iTunes 12.2 update, which was designed for the Apple Music and Beats 1 subscribers, was reported to have bugs which randomly scrambled tracks, artists and album in the music libraries.

Apple has released iTunes version 12.2 along with iOS 8.4; both of which are integral to last week's Apple Music launch. The two software updates are needed for OS X Yosemite and Microsoft Windows users to access Apple Music and Beats 1. Initially, Apple fans were ecstatic about the release, resulting to positive comments about the update. However, after the installation, most users were confused and complained of experiencing a lot of problems such as disruption of tags and messed up music libraries.

In the latest iTunes update, aside from the access to Beats 1 and Apple Music, users can avail a set of new features. Users can explore new music, especially handpicked by Apple's music editors. They can also connect with their favourite artists and see their shared photos, music and videos. Fans can even interact with them by "commenting" or "loving" their posts. In addition, the "For You" feature enables subscribers to get playlist and album recommendations based on musical tastes and song replays. Meanwhile, purchased, downloaded and imported songs are all organized in the libraries.

However, despite major plans lined up for Apple fanatics, most of the users were left unsatisfied, troubled with bugs leading to iTunes' poor performance. Most of the reports that claim of users' distress on the iTunes' latest update involve mismatching of music libraries in general, especially with the iCloud Music Library.

The feature was specifically made to sync songs in multiple devices. However, once enabled, users report that tracks, artists, album and cover artworks are all randomly scrambled and mismatched. Other reports claim that tags were also messed up. In line with this, music lovers and DJs advise iTunes users to hold off from updating.

Users hope that Apple can fix the bugs soon to secure quality service. For the meantime, they can avail Apple's new online music streaming service for a free three-month trial and afterwards through paid subscriptions for $9.99 for an individual plan or $14.99 for a family plan.
