Hugh Jackman might be one of Hollywood's most in demand actors, but when it comes to making the rules, it seems like his wife is the boss. The actor and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have been married for almost 20 years now and she intends to keep it that way.
In an interview with Australian Television, Deborra-Lee Furness talked about how she copes seeing her husband working with beautiful women. The 59-year old actress said that she was used to seeing her husband star opposite many of Hollywood's most beautiful women. However, she has one exception.
"I've told his agent he's not allowed to work with Angelina [Jolie]," she said in the interview.
The actress also said in the interview that she thought Angelina Jolie was a very beautiful woman, and admired the star for her humanitarian work. She spoke highly of the actress and her awareness for adoption.
"I'm sure she's very nice and I love what she's doing - shining a light on awareness for adoption..." Furness continued.
The actress was quick to add, "I'm just kidding."
Furness is a big fan of Angelina Jolie and has admired the actress' continuing work on charity and humanitarian works. Furness, who was on the Australian Television show with husband Hugh Jackman to promote their organization Adopt Change, a project which they hold dear to their hearts.
"What people don't know is we were always going to adopt," Furness said. "Yes we did want to have a biological child, but it didn't happen, so we just went to the adoption."
Jackman and Furness have been married for 19 years now, and have two adopted children. The pair first met Australian drama Corelli. The actress said that it was important to choose your partner wisely when asked about ensuring the success of one's marriage.
"Deb had a rule, never apart for more than two weeks," Jackman said "Deb had been on enough sets to see the pitfalls. It was my first job when we met, I didn't know anything else, but we've never been apart for more than two weeks. We've managed to keep that."
"It just goes to show, if you get it right, if you pick the right partner, then you traverse all those travails and challenges." Furness added.
