Samuel L Jackson and M Night Shyamalan reveal details on possible ‘Unbreakable’ sequel

There is a huge clamour for a sequel to the 2000 film "Unbreakable". One of its stars Samuel L. Jackson says he is keen on the idea while director M Night Shyamalan has not given a direct answer on this possibility.

Samuel L. Jackson says he is all game to do an "Unbreakable" sequel. Cinemablend reports that the former villain is usually confronted by people about a possible sequel to the action movie. He says that since Bruce Willis, "The Unbreakable" and producer-director M Night Shyamalan are still around, they might as well do another movie. Jackson described the film to be a good one.

Released in 2000, the "Unbreakable" centers on a security guard named David Dunn (played by Willis) who discovers that he has superpowers. After a job interview, he figures in a train accident together with 131 passengers but it is only him who survives unscathed. Elijah Price, a comic book fan played by Jackson, becomes obsessed with David that he convinces him to become a superhero. Elijah is the opposite of David having an unusual disease that makes his bones break easily. Elijah becomes the villain and in the later part is brought to an asylum for terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Film Director was quoted as saying that he has no hold of what may happen to "Unbreakable 2" but he believes it could happen, says Den of Geek.

"Maybe there's an interest right now in the underlying struggles and fantasies that are being fulfilled in comic books and not being fulfilled in the real world," he said.

Screenrant says M Night Shyamalan actually plans on doing an "Unbreakable" mini series. Moreover, the possible ideas for the sequel is planned to be used in his "Night Chronicles" trilogy.
