"The Flash" is already gearing up for its second season which will see multiple timelines and a possible appearance of "Smallville" alum Tom Welling. Grant Gustin teases the multiverse himself as fans continues to theorize Welling's attachment to season 2, which already began filming this week.
Grant Gustin spilled some major plot points next season, which might see the Speedster in multiple timelines, reports Cinemablend. The Flash actor said that "I think we're going to start showing Earth-One and Earth-Two in the near future," adding that, "There will be kind of different dimensions going on."
Barry Allen already travelled back in time last season to save her mother, which makes this play with the past and the future easy to execute for the CW series.
These alternate realities started in 1961 when DC released "The Flash #123" that saw the meeting of Barry Allen and Jay Garrick, the first Flash. Barry lives on Earth-One and was inspired by a comic book featuring Jay, who turns out to be a real superhero on Earth-Two. The biggest hint about the multiverse last season was the helmet that came through the portal, which actually belongs to Jay.
Another exciting news for "The Flash" season 2 involves the possible appearance of "Smallville" star Tom Welling to the series as per Heroic Universe's report.
This is great news for the fans of DC Television Universe site especially for the diehards who only got a glimpse of Welling wearing the famous blue and red costume. Clark Kent's appearance will allow the viewers to know what he's been up to since the show ended and also a chance to see Welling in the suit.
We previously reported that the sophomore season will also introduce new superheroes that will help Barry in fighting the new villains set to wreak havoc next season.
