The trailer of Marvel's upcoming "Deadpool" has become the crown jewel of all the projects that was teased at this year's San Diego Comic Con. While some of the fans might have already watched the footage through the leaked recorded video online, lead actor Ryan Reynolds tells the rest that they will have to wait three more weeks to see the trailer officially. The movie is scheduled to premiere February next year.
DC's "Suicide Squad" and Fox's "X-Men: Apocalypse" are not the only Comic-Con superhero flicks whose trailers were leaked online. A few hours after the 20th Century Fox and Marvel panel have revealed the first trailer of "Deadpool", a recorded, full-length version of the exclusive teaser has made its way onto the internet. Though the video might not be the best in the world, those who will watch it would still be able to follow the narrative completely considering the audio's really good quality.
In lieu with this unexpected event, Ryan Reynolds who plays the titular superhero in the film has assured the fans that the leaked trailer will be made available to the public really soon. On his Twitter account, he announced "As much as I want the #deadpool footage from #SDCC officially released, the VFX shots aren't done yet. We have something for you in 3 weeks." There is no confirmation though whether what the studio will be releasing in a few weeks will be a Green Band theatrical version of the trailer or also a Red Band similar to the leaked version.
As previously reported, "Deadpool" follows the story of Wade Wilson, a former Special Forces operative turned mercenary, who gains healing capabilities after being experimented. With his new powers and a dark, twisted sense of humor, he adopts the alter ego "Deadpool" and hunts the person who almost ruined his life.
Apart from Reynolds, the upcoming film co-stars TJ Miller ("Transformers: Age of Extinction", "Big Hero 6") as Weasel, Gina Carano ("Haywire", "Fast and Furious 6") as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand ("Prism") as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin ("Gotham", "Serenity") as Copycat and Ed Skrein ("The Transporter: Refueled", "Northmen: A Viking Saga") as Ajax.
"Deadpool" is directed by Tim Miller based on a screenplay penned by "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The upcoming superhero flick is slated to open in cinemas on February 12, 2016.
