Disney to Showcase Star Wars Battlefront Gameplay Alongside Infinity 3.0 at D23 Expo this August; Splitscreen Coop Supports Xbox One, PS4 but not PC

By

The Missions Mode in Star Wars: Battlefront will support splitscreen cooperative gameplay on Xbox One and PS4 consoles but not on PC.

Electronic Arts confirmed the unsatisfying news for the PC gamers on the Star Wars Battlefront Community Q&A published Friday last week.

The Missions Mode, a non-competitive component of Star Wars: Battlefront, can be played both offline or online with other gamers. While it is unknown why there is a lack of support on PC, Mathew Everett gave some other details on the game.

In Walker Assault, vehicles can be accessed from the power up system spread throughout the maps. Players will need to activate it which automatically spawns them inside. The vehicle power ups can be used only for a certain amount of time.

Another top inquiry about the game is The Y-wings, if whether it will be playable or not. Everett explains that while Y-wings are support vehicles that players can call into battle within certain game modes, they are the type of vehicles that cannot be controlled be players.

In addition, playing missions does not give players a multiplayer career progression, but it provides players with credit rewards when they buy unlocks.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Disney will feature gameplay from Star Wars Battlefront at the company's own D23 expo in Anaheim. The D23 Expo will be on August 14-16 and the footage video will be revealed on Aug. 16, Sunday, at the Hall D23 theater at the Anaheim Convention Center. Star Wars Battlefront will be showcased alongside the new Disney Infinity 3.0 title and few other announced games.

Aside from the new gameplay footage, Disney will also give a hands-on demo on Star Wars: Battlefront for fans and they can also try out the new Star Wars: Battlefront Pod arcade game. The game re-enacts the battles from the original trilogy using a virtual-reality headset.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be out on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
