Good news for fans who look forward to Street Fighter 5 release and may not be too keen on Capcom changing the game's character costumes. The developer confirms that the future DLC packs will feature classic costumes for its game characters.
This was confirmed by Capcom's director of marketing and eSports, Matt Dahlgren while speaking with IGN at Comic-Con 2015 when asked about players if retro costumes are going to be available. He says, "Of course! I mean, if you look at what happened with Street Fighter 4, there's tons of variety in terms of costumes, [...] We'll definitely be doing that in the long run."
This means that characters such as Ken and the other veteran Street Fighters will be wearing their 1990s attire in Street Fighter 5 except Ryu and Chun-Li who are still wearing their classic costumes.
Meanwhile, confirmed game characters who are coming to Street Fighter 5 are Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, and M. Bison a.k.a.Vega , Special Ops Cammy, the British punk rocker Birdie, and the maestro of the flaming shoryuken Ken Masters that's just recently revealed during a panel at San Diego's Comic-Con 2015.
Reports have it that four additional fighters will be making their return - Urien, Alex, Karin Kanzuki, and R. Mika. The report says that a hot tip was given to Silliconera about the inclusion of these fighters, but it is said that Capcom did not officially acknowledge the rumor.
Announced in December through a strategic partnership between Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and Capcom, Street Fighter V is developed exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PC with cross-platform play between both systems.
The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 to deliver the latest technology in fighting impact on gaming. Unreal Engine 4 is a new technology set of game development tools with dozens of game created including Tekken 7.
Street Fighter 5 will be released in the Spring of 2016 for PS4 and PC. A PC beta is expected to come out sometime this fall while the beta for PS4 will be out on July 24.
