The upcoming "Fast and Furious 8" movie will be the first sequel of the "Fast and Furious" franchise that the late actor Paul Walker won't be seen. However, most of the remaining cast will recur in the latest action sequel. One of them is Eva Mendez whose character will actually be the focus of the movie's storyline.
There is no official information yet if Paul Walker's brother Cody will still return in "Fast and Furious 8". Paul was still able to film "Fast and Furious 7" but Cody had to fill in for his character as Brian O' Connor in some scenes, after the former died in a vehicular accident in 2013. What is sure is that the big stars will still return for the new movie.
According to Movie News Guide, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will recur as Luke Hobbs, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Vin Diesel as Dominic Torreto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz Toretto and Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce. Lucas Black may also return as Sean Boswell, having said in the past that he has signed up for the 7th to 9th instalments of the "Fast and Furious".
News Everyday also confirms that Kurt Russel, whose character as Mr. Nobody was introduced during "Fast and Furious 7", will return in the upcoming film. His role was added to the last movie and was intended for a continuation in the coming sequel. It was also confirmed that Helen Mirren will join the all-star cast as one of the villains.
Meanwhile, Yibada reports that Eva Mendez will also reprise her role as Agent Monica Fuentes wherein the movie plot will be greatly connected to her story. Mendez will team up with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, who play as couples, to fight against a new villain.
"Fast and Furious 8" will be shown in theatres on April 14, 2017.
