'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Update: Actor Jesse Eisenberg Says "Genocide" Comment At SDCC Was Only A "Hyperbole"

By

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor Jesse Eisenberg recently defended his "genocide" comment at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, saying he was only using a hyperbole. The upcoming superhero movie is slated to be released March next year.

While the panel of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at the San Diego Comic-Con has hyped the crowd, actor Jesse Eisenberg's appearance seems to have dismayed some. It was noted by the Guardian that the 31-year-old actor had a rough Comic-Con experience last weekend. Talking to the Associated Press, Eisenberg has described the unpleasantness of "being screamed at by thousands of people" as something similar to genocide.

Eisenberg may not have expected it to be taken seriously, but his comment has blown up on the internet gaining a lot of negative criticisms among fans. Recently, the actor appears to have done damage control, clarifying what he really meant with his "genocide" statement. "I of course was using hyperbole to describe the sensory overload I experienced," he explained during an interview to promote his film "The End of the Tour". "I sometimes do employ that. I'm a normal person who has normal sensory experiences, so Comic-Con was very overwhelming for me."

Considering the fact that he plays the role of Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", he further explained that such hyperbolic statements are just what's expected from a villain. "They expect me to use hyperbole!" he said. "If I didn't I'd be the hero who usually speaks pretty practically." Though Eisenberg did not apologize for the controversial statement, he did admit that "it was really an honour to be on that end of such jubilation".

Meanwhile, the cast of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" includes Henry Cavill ("The Man From U.N.C.L.E") as Superman, Ben Affleck ("Gone Girl") as Batman, and Gal Gadot ("Furious 6") as Wonder Woman. The film is directed by Zack Snyder and is slated to open in cinemas on March 25, 2016.
