Why the sudden price-slash?
Android Authority confirmed there was no official statement on the reason for this sudden price-cut. It is not certain if this is a mere flash sale or a permanent price cut. But considering the massive $70 discount, this should prompt any random tech fans to grab one immediately and take advantage of these tech wearables.
Meanwhile, Android And Me speculated that this big-time price discount was brought about by the upcoming ZenWatch 2. Also, they stressed that it makes sense for ASUS and Google to offload as much stock of the original as possible in preparation for the launch of its newest version.
But don't take this price update as a down-play for the original Zenwatch since Zenwatch 2 is already lurking around for future release. The ZenWatch has already received its Android 5.1.1 update, bringing with it a number of new features, Android Central says.
