Asus is creating its new Asus PadFone S2. According to leaks spreading over the net, it is set to be launched in March 2016. There are some reasons that would make this Asus Padfone S2 an interesting topic.
This is the first PadFone unit that Asus is developing, definitely more than a year by March next year. Another reason why this catches interest from consumers is that this padfone would be the first to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 and probably this would get more attention than its predecessor smartphones.
The Asus PadFone series has definitely made its own stage. Emphasizing its docking ability, it is a type of smartphone that docks into a slate which made it transform into a tablet. The predecessors of Asus Padfone S2 had a keyboard dock that turned the smartphone into a laptop type, though, it has become a phased out style.
Asus started making smartphones with docking ability from Asus Padfone X followed by its mini version, the Asus Padfone X Mini. This has made the Asus Padfone series unique from the other smartphone series in the market, and might be continuing its legacy to Asus Padfone S2.
There are reports saying that the PadFone S2 would have a 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is also said to sport a 4GB of RAM with either 32GB or 64GB of memory storage but it is not yet officially announced if it will have an option of expandable memory. Considering the specification of the previous Asus Padfone lineup, it is more likely to support up to 64GB of memory taking the same route of smartphones in the Asus Padfone series.
There are Padfone forums that speculate Padfone S2's camera also gets ranked up comparing to its predecessor PadFone S. The S2 would sport a 20.7MP primary camera that would attract selfie lovers to purchase it. It has also better front camera of 8 megapixels than the Padfone S with only 2 MP front camera.
The Asus Padfone S2 would be powered by a 3060 mAh battery which is above average than other smartphone battery life and is much better than previous smartphones of Asus Padfone series. Since it would be unveiled earlier next year, it would probably running Android M OS.
