Capcom Reveals New Street Fighter V Character at EVO 2015; Board Game to Be Released Soon

By

Last Sunday, Capcom unveiled the first of four new characters in the Street Fighter V game at EVO 2015, just before resuming to the last round of the Ultra Street Fighter IV contest. Necalli is the latest character to join the roster of fighters and he will use grappling techniques in SFV.

Aside from this, IGN reports about Jasco Games and their announcement about an upcoming partnership with Capcom for the second time around. They wanted to publish an original Street Fighter-themed board game. Jasco Games asks Street Fighter fans to follow them on Twitter to get updates regarding this announcement.

The new Street Fighter V character revealed at EVO 2015, is named Necalli, a fierce-looking grappler with long fiery red hair. Kotaku cites the official PR statement of Capcom about their latest Street Fighter V character, Necalli, as follows:

"Hailing from a mysterious background, Necalli utilizes a wild, animalistic fighting style to brutalize his opponents. There's no finesse here as all of his attacks have been forged through the heat of battle to inflict maximum pain upon his opponents. However, beneath the surface of the crazed warrior lies a hidden genius that is unleashed upon V-trigger activation. Players who enjoy a straight-forward, hard-hitting character will feel right at home with Necalli, as he possesses a wide variety of savage, close-range attacks, as well as a command grab, all with the goal of demolishing his foes."

Capcom will be revealing more about Necalli's storyline and origin in the next few months.

Street Fighter players will only be able to have access to the new Street Fighter V game characters by either unlocking them in the game through earning fight money, or by buying them in packs with real money, as mentioned in Mashable. There will be game updates to improve the game systems, and the good news is, these will be for free.

Aside from Necalli and the other three new characters, there will be 16 more playable characters in the game. This includes returning characters Birdie and Charlie Nash, alongside most played characters, Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li, M.Bison, and Cammy.

Street Fighter V will be released in Beta this week, exclusively on PlayStation Network. Street Fighter V, on the other hand, will be released for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in early 2016.
