'The Huntsman' is an action-adventure film based on the fairytale 'Snow White' by the Brothers Grimm. The film, directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, is said to be a prequel of the 2012 film 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.
Several cast members returned to reprise their role including Chris Hemsworth as Eric the Huntsman, Charlize Theron as the evil Queen Ravenna, Sam Claflin as William - the son of Duke Hammond, and Nick Frost as Nion. The film will have some newcomers as well, specifically actress Emily Blunt.
It is surprising to note that the Golden Globe award recipient, best known for her roles in 'Into the Woods', 'Edge of Tomorrow', and 'The Devil Wears Prada', is rumored to play a villain alongside Theron. She wasn't one to be cast as an antagonist in her prior list of films. According to Fans Share, if those speculations were to be confirmed, Blunt's portrayal of a darker character would help her avoid becoming a predictable talent.
According to the Wells Journal, Blunt was seen with co-star Theron on July 16 in Wells, Somerset. Both were dressed head to toe in wigs and costumes for the shoot of a certain funeral scene in 'The Huntsman' on England's countryside. Theron's Queen Ravenna had long blonde hair that added contrast to the all-black medieval gown she had on while Blunt's character donned a silvery white wig and a light-colored gown for the scene in Wells Cathedral.
Blunt's character, although still undisclosed to the public, also seemed to emanate an ominous flair. In another article by the Daily Mail, her countenance was said to be reminiscent to that of a fairytale Ice Queen. Her silver dress with details in gold was completed with a pair of hunting gloves. The film had been shooting on location around South England - along Surrey and the latest in Somerset.
'The Huntsman' is scheduled for a big screen release on April 22, 2016. Details of its possible story remain unknown as well as the characters to be played by the cast's newcomers. The new film may reveal how Eric and Queen Ravenna became acquainted before the events of the first movie. Its predecessor 'Snow White and the Huntsman' gained mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
