While George R.R. Martin remains mum about the book release, he did hint that the highly anticipated novel "Winds of Winter" will have a "great twist". The sixth installment of his novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is rumored to be rolled out before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres next summer.
After the cliffhanging end of the "Game of Thrones" season 6 Finale which saw Jon Snow's possible death, the fans are already dying to know what is going to happen next. Unfortunately, the television show has already caught up with the novels, leaving the fans with no choice but to wait for the next book. Though that "A Song of Ice and Fire" author George R.R. Martin remains silent with regards to the release of the long-awaited book, he did assure the fans that "Winds of Winter" would features "a great twist".
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the best-selling New Mexico writer revealed that he has come up with a huge twist on one of the series' long-time characters the he never thought of doing before. "This is going to drive your readers crazy," he teased. "But I loved i." According to him he is still weighing whether he is going to that direction or not. However, he did hint that it will be "a great twist".
The sit-down with Martin may have not coaxed information regarding the book's highly anticipated release; at least it bore an explanation concerning the novel's delay. "I was red hot on the book and I put it aside for six months I was pushing so hard that I was writing very well," he said. "I should have just gone on from there, because I was so into it and it was moving so fast then but I didn't because I had to switch gears into the editing phase and then the book tour."
Despite this, there are rumors floating around that Martin is expecting the book to be out on the shelves even before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 arrives on TV. Considering the show's debut usually set in late March to mid-April, it is presumed that the novel will be launched not later than mid-March 2016.
