Last year's much-anticipated smartphone by Google is finally coming in the market this year. One of the things that might have caused the delay would be the final maker of the phone. There were viable candidates, but LG and Huawei stood out. Google must have taken a little longer time to choose their partners, but the good thing is that the phones are finally coming.
IBTimes reported that Google has finally picked LG to make the 2015 Nexus which is more likely to run on Googles Android M, the software giant's predecessor to their Lollipop OS. The report also said that Google might release 2 versions of Nexus, a 5.2-inch smartphone and a phablet. IBTimes got their information through online tech authority, BGR which also confirmed that while the smaller is with LG the phablet will be with one of China's biggest phone manufacturer Huawei. The phablet is reported to have a 5.7-inch screen. The pair is also reported to battle Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer giant is no stranger to Nexus since they are the one responsible for making the Nexus 4 and 5 in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
On the other hand Huawei is also not a stranger for Nexus, Gizmochina said. Gizmochina also revealed some features of the phone like a 5.7-inch OLED display with 2K screen resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under its hood, which is a little bit odd since Huawei is synonymous with the SoC processor. Nonetheless, there were no issues seen when Google asked Huawei to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor instead of Huawei's own.
One big concern though on the Nexus phablet would be the battery life, as of this time, there were no information available on what battery they will be using, since the 2K resolution and the Snapdragon processor is notorious in battery consumption.
In addition, it is also expected for Google to hold off until the twilight of the year to announce their Nexus phones, as part of the software manufacturer's tradition.
