The latest patch was released on Thursday, July 23 and according to the game's official website, this is considered one of the largest point releases that Grinder Gear Games has ever done. Aside from improving several performance issues, patch 2.0.0g introduced big balance updates to Act Four, Warbands and Tempest. Game developers also added new microtransactions such as the Necrotic Armour Pack, Divine Righteous Fire and the Peacock and Peahen pets.
Some of the balance changes that game developers made includes a rebalancing of the end of Act Four, making it less deadly in Normal and Cruel difficulty levels. Other Act Four changes involves the reduced life and damage points of the final boss in Normal and Cruel levels, along with reduced projectile counts such as the Ethereal Knives and the Stygian Revenants lighting attacks.
Some of the Warbands changes also featured an increase in experience gained and dropped items, as well as hourly map changes to provide players more opportunity to attack Warbands. Meanwhile, balance changes for Tempest included a bug fix where Tempest Fire/Spine/Lightning/Ice storms could become invisible, and many more.
Game developers also fixed several game bugs, as well as decreased the bandwidth used by the "Path of Exile" client. This is aimed to reduce stuttering in Lockstep mode and instances of players being disconnected due to too much data sent.
