Bourne 5, the upcoming installment of the Bourne franchise, is under way and casting is currently going on for the sequel as it nears its 2016 release. A new addition has also been made to the cast of the movie with Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones.

While Jones' character in the movie remains to be unknown as of now, he is rumored to play the role of a superior officer in CIA. Variety reported that Jones' rumored role is somehow similar to the roles played by Edward Norton, Chris Cooper, Brian Cox, and David Stathairn in the previous films.

Jones is the latest addition to the cast comprised of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons, and Ex Machina actress Alicia Vikander whose character has not been revealed yet.

Also, Viggo Mortensen is reported to have been offered the villain role. Rumors have it that his role might be an assassin who will track Bourne down. As of writing, there are no confirmation released yet about his involvement in the film.

The currently untitled Bourne film will witness the return of Matt Damons for the lead role and director Paul Greengrass in the director's chair. Damon and Greengrass are also to be credited for the movie's screenplay along with Christopher Rouse.

Damon and Greengrass will be back in the franchise after they stepped out of it for 2012 "The Bourne Legacy" which starred actor Jeremy Renner and was directed by Tony Gilroy. Damon last played the role of Bourne in "The Bourne Ultimatum" which was released in 2007.

The upcoming Bourne movie is said to start filming this summer, and will be released in July 29, 2016. It will be produced by Greengrass, Damon, Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner, Greg Goodman, and Ben Smith, while Christopher Rouse and Henry Morrison will executive produce the upcoming movie.
