Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, has been confirmed to give its first look at Disney's D23 Expo. A lot of the characters from the first film are said to return but the previous main protagonist, Nemo, might not return for the sequel.
Given that it is set to be released sometime next year, many have found it strange that a trailer has not been released for Finding Dory yet. But apparently, it will not be the case anymore as it has been confirmed that Finding Dory, along with other Disney and Pixar films, will release its first look during the D23 Expo.
The expo will reportedly include "a bevy of special guests will be on hand to offer a look at an unparalleled slate that includes Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens-and much, much more." the press release reportedly stated. It also states that "Filmmakers will unveil never-before-seen footage from Pixar's upcoming The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory and Disney Animation's Zootopia and Moana."
The upcoming D23 Expo is set to happen in Anaheim, California on August 14 to 16. The Expo will also reportedly include surprise announcements, musical appearances, and appearances of the films' voice talents.
Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that the characters from the first film will probably return for the sequel, however, these characters might not include Nemo. It is reported that it is because the voice of Alexander Gould who previously voiced Nemo, has deepened with age.
Ellen DeGeneres will be reprising her role as the adorable blue tang, Dory, as well as Albert Brooks as Marlin, Willem Dafoe as Gill, and Vicki Lewis as Deb. Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy are also set to play the role of Dory's parents , Jenny and Charlie, respectively. New members of the cast also include Dominic West and Idris Elba, although, their characters have not been revealed just yet.
TV Host Ellen DeGeneres previously revealed her thoughts about the movie saying, "I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time. I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is -- it's got a lot more Dory."
Finding Dory is directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane. It is said to hit theaters in June 2016.
