After two years of dating, professional tennis players Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov have broken up just before the US Open 2015. Dimitrov says he wants to focus on improving his career although the reason for the break-up is still not clear.
Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has confirmed his split with Russian Maria Sharapova. Movie News Guide quotes him as saying that Dimitrov is having a new beginning this summer. He also wants to focus on his career having not performed well in recent major tournaments. Dimitrov did not make it to the Monte Carlo 2015 and could not able to measure up to Sharapova's performance.
Sharapova was spotted on the beach with friends which made fans suspect that she and Dimitrov are no longer together. The report however added that the real cause as to why they ended their relationship is not clear. Sharapova he has not given any statement about their relationship since the Wimbledon tournament.
USA Today Sports also reports that Dimitrov says he and Sharapova's paths have parted. He is grateful though that they had great moments together. Dimitrov also wished his ex-girlfriend well in her career and life. He added that he is confident that he will be right on track with his career soon. Dimitrov is Rank 16 in tennis all over the world while Sharapova is the world's second tennis player. She is a five-time grand slam champion and the highest- earning woman in sports. During their relationship, Sharapova had three Grand Slam finals in which she won one during the 2014 French Open.
The National also reports that Sharapova also collected 4 masters titles in the past 30 months. Dimitrov was once considered as one of the brightest young stars in men's tennis, placed eight in the rankings, won three titles and reached the last 4 stages during the Wimbledon.
Taking on a fresh start, Grigor Dimitrov is positive that he will climb up the ladder in the tennis world even without inspiration from Maria Sharapova.
