News about Tekken x Street Fighter seems to have not existed for the longest time. As the opportunity of releasing information presents itself, Bandai Namco looks to clarify if the game truly has been forgotten, or if fans are just to hold on a little bit longer.
It was back in 2010, at the San Diego Comic Con International, when Tekken X Street Fighter was first announced. Even after 5 years later, news of the game's existence is still heavily questioned. According to IGN, interviews with Katsuhiro Harada, the producer of the Tekken franchise, was slightly productive, but not enough to satisfy the fans' concerns.
Katsuhiro Harada immediately set the records straight as he was asked if the game no longer exists. "That's not true!" he responded. "I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development."
One factor of this is probably due to the multiple games that is being worked on by Harada and the team. The list of these upcoming projects includeTekken 7, Pokkén Tournament, and a Project Morpheus title named Summer Lesson, Vine Report noted.
Seemingly unprogressive and stagnant, Harada clarified further on that from their end, the polygon models, moves, and systems have already been sorted out, long ago. As reported by Event Hubs, the character lineup is also finished, for the record.
Badly enough, Harada mentioned that since Tekken 7 is already released to some countries and Street Fighter V will come soon after, fans may be caught in the dilemma of which to make a priority. He also said that this may cause trouble in terms of good timing to catch the attention of the many fans.
Definitely, Capcom's own take of Street Fighter X Tekken from 2012 was created on the Street Fighter 2D engine. As this is highly favorable to the Street Fighter fans, the undetermined release of Tekken X Street Fighter which will be on the 3D Tekken engine still has fans on the verge of believing and not believing as of the moment.
Tekken X Street Fighter is rumored to be released on 2016. However, this news is yet to be confirmed in the near future.
