Atlus' upcoming fifth main title to the franchise, Persona 5, is touted to be one of this year's AAA titles and plethora of gameplay leaks have continued to spur online fueling fans' excitement to get their hands on the game.
A report from Master Herald shared that Persona 5 gameplay footage leaked in Japan contains major details on the thief protagonist and his friends. The leaked video revealed new characters as typical high school students by day and become thieves by nightfall. All three of them have their distinct unique 'persona' and that is where the game is named after.
The lead character, Phantom, appears to wear a bird mask and have pistols as well as knives for weapons.He is claimed to share a close resemblance to Arsene Lupin who is a famous classic thief.
On the other hand, the two characters, Ryuji Sakamoto and Anne Takamaki are classmates of Phantom. Ryuji Sakamoto uses a skull mask and shotguns while Anne Takamaki disguises herself using a cat mask, has a whip and machine guns to use as weapons.
Morgana is also revealed as one who can transform herself into a cat and is armed with swords and slingshots. She is said to be linked with Seven Deadly Sins and one of the major characters in the game's plot.
In related story, a new official PS4 ad has recently revealed that Persona 5 European release will take place in 2016. According to VideoGamer, Sony's print ad found in the latest issue of Edge magazine showed a set of launch calendar for a number of PS4 games. Persona 5 is indicated on the reported list to release in 2016 for Europe, although, both Japan and North America will still be receiving the game this 2015.
Based on the purported calendar, 2016 really looks promising Sony's PS4 as overload of new titles are under way which include both first-party exclusive and huge third-party games.
Persona 5 is the latest iteration of the Persona series developed by P Studio and published by Atlus. The game arrives as an exclusive title for PlayStation consoles, PS4, PS3 and PS Vita before year-end both in Japan and North America.
