Five Nights at Freddy's Updates: Poltergeist helmsman Gil Kenan gets behind director's chair; Movie adaptation set in more than 1 location

Five Nights at Freddy's movie adaptation is currently in the works and has landed its director. The movie confirmed to be set in more than one location, and will have game's creator, Scott Cawthon involved in the production.

A director has finally been given to Five Nights at Freddy's movie adaptation. According to Gamespot, Poltergeist director Gil Kenan has reportedly signed a deal with Warner Bros for the upcoming movie. Kenan also previously worked on the movie Monster House in which he got an Oscar nomination.

Aside from Kenan, other people on board for the film are Roy Lee, Seth Gramahe-Smith, and David Katzenberg who are set to produce the movie. As reported by /Film, Adam Stone and Jay Ireland are also set to execute produce, while Tyler Burton Smith is also set the script.

Meanwhile, as reported by Kotaku, new details have been released by Kenan himself after answering Twitter and Instagram questions addressed to him by the famous games' fans. One fan asked how the robots will be created asking, "How will they move? Surely you couldn't create bipedal robots of that size?" to which Kenan replied, "I can sure as hell try!"

Aside from that, Kenan also said that he is an FNAF fan and that he finds the story of the game amazing and scary. If he'll follow the lore of the film, Kenan said that "the lore of the game is the movie's fuel" and that they're making the film for all fans, and is not just for the kids.

Although the script is still currently being worked on, Kenan revealed that the movie will be set in more than one location. He also revealed that series' creator, Scott Cawthon will be involved in making the movie "in a real way" since according to Kenan, "Scott IS fnaf".

As of now, details about the Five Nights at Freddy's movie are still quite scarce as it is still in its early days of production. But more details about the movie are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
