'Steve Jobs', the upcoming movie of the life of the great American technological pioneer, has been chosen as the Centerpiece selection for the 53rd New York Film Festival. It will be screened exclusively a week ahead its public debut.

According to Mac Rumors, the much awaited biopic will be screened on October 3 at the prestigious film festival to be held at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City. Festival Director and Selection Committee Chair Kent Jones said, "You hear that a bio of Steve Jobs is being produced, and of course you see multiple possible movies in your head . . . but not this one.

Steve Jobs is dramatically concentrated, yet beautifully expansive; it's extremely sharp; it's wildly entertaining, and the actors just soar-you can feel their joy as they bite into their material." Although screening isn't open to the public, one may sign up to become a Film Society member and provide donations for access to exclusive incentives the NYFF has to offer.

In another article by Fortune.com, the upcoming film will feature Michael Fassbender in the title role of Steve Jobs. Although 'Steve Jobs' will officially hit theaters on October 9, 2015, an exclusive screening on October 3 at the NYFF will be made available to selected audiences in the affair that runs from September 25 to October 11. The movie joins the likes of previous NYFF Centerpiece films such as 2011's 'My Week With Marilyn', 2007's 'No Country For Old Men', and 2005's 'Breakfast On Pluto'.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Danny Boyle's work is based on Walter Isaacson's biography of Jobs translated on the big screen by writer Aaron Sorkin. Boyle acknowledged the selection by saying, "I am honored that our film has been selected as the centerpiece of this year's festival. And thrilled and terrified too, unlike the subject of our film, who would have taken the whole thing very much in his stride."

'Steve Jobs' features Fassbender in the titular role together with co-stars Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Katherine Waterston and Jeff Daniels. It is one of the two biopics about Apple's celebrated co-founder and CEO to be released within the year - the other one being a documentary by Alex Dibney.
