The crime drama television drama series Gotham set against the pre-Batman period is renewed for Season 2 in Fox. In season 2, the young Detective Jim Gordon (Ben Mckenzie) will have his hands full as Gotham becomes infested with super villains.

Cory Michael Smith's Edward Nygma whose transformation had been witnessed by vieweres in Season 1 will take the center stage in Gotham Season 2. During an interview of Yahoo with Smith, Edward Nygma will embrace his inner devil as being good does not work for him. As season 2 progresses, Edward will eventually evolve into the Riddler.
During the Comic Con panel discussion, fans asked Gotham cast about the Joker. Showrunner Bruno Heller was generous enough to more than answer the question. According to Den of Geek, Heller confirmed that Joker will be part of the main plot of Season 2.
Jerome or Joker, who will be portrayed by Cameron Monaghan, will rise to his throne as "Clown Prince of Crime" in the coming season, the Cinema Blend claimed. Viewers can get a glimpse on the story of Joker, before he meets Batman. Joker and his story will open the Season 2 of the show.
Siblings Theo Galavan (James Frain) and Tabitha/Tigress (Jessica Lucas), who were both in Season 1, will lead the crime stricken city into more destruction as they recruit more villains.
Other villains viewers will meet in Season 2 include Clayface, Mad Hatter, Hugo Strange, Azrael, Calendar Man, Silver St. Cloud, Firefly, The Flamingo, Amygdala, and Mr. Freeze.
Gotham Season 2 will also dig deeper into how Detective Gordon helped shape Bruce Wayne into becoming Batman.
