Samsung has apparently felt Apple's presence through their upcoming flagship phones, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It's the reason why the Korean based company moved it official release date of their Galaxy Note 5 a month earlier than what was announced previously.
Apple dedicated website 9 to 5 Mac has confirmed the news and noted that Samsung looked to release their flagship Galaxy Note 5 earlier than expected mainly for two reasons. One, to get a heads up on sales and second, to probably cover the losses they will be having once the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are released.
Aside from the Galaxy Note 5's sudden change of release date, Samsung's mobile payment platform, Samsung Pay, coined Samsung Pay, will be pushed back to September instead of an earlier date.
The Korean based company dominated the phablet arena until Apple decided to break into the market when they released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus late last year. In October, the Cupertino-based multi-billion dollar company is looking to repeat history and looking to sell at least 90 M units by the end of the year.
With regard to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5's release date, IBTimes reported that it will be formally launched on August 13 and is likely to be sold at around $930 per unit. The Galaxy Note 5 will have a Quad HD screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, in addition to the synonymous Super AMOLED display technology.
It will also be powered by a new Qualcomm MDM9635M chipset, with an octa core (Samsung Exynos 7422) processor. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will also come in 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB of built-in memory storage variants and will be boasting a 16MP primary camera and 5MP secondary snapper.
In relation to Apple's iPhone 6s release, PhoneArena cited that Apple has ordered their supplier to start mass producing the phone's Force Touch parts in order to accommodate their projected number of sales of 90 million units by the end of the year.
Although the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 looks good in specs and reviews, Apple's recent success in the phablet war is so impressive that made, if not most, all of its competitors, including Samsung to look for some avenues in order to overtake Apple's success.
