‘Prison Break Sequel’ Update: Showrunners Say One-Time 10 Episode Sequels; Michael Scofield Death’s Ignored In Brand-new Series?

The 'Prison Break Sequel' has been confirmed by Fox. The showrunners of the famous TV series say that the sequel is a one-time 10 episodes. He also said that important characters are coming back to the TV screen.

Movie Pilot says that a fresh series of "Prison Break" is due in 2016. The 4th season of Prison Break ended in 2009, after almost 6 years, the jailbird characters are coming back into your TV series for a new run. It has been reported that the brand-new series has been in the works for quite sometime now.

But Fox's co-chairmen and CEOs, Gary Newman and Dana Walden, have just recently revealed the plan of the "Prison Break Sequel" during the "Television Critics Association" summer press tour. According to the revelation of Walden, the upcoming "Prison Break" would pick up the main characters of the TV series several years after the season 4 finale episode. The one-time sequel of the famous crime series would definitely give answers to the many questions that fans have including the new audience.

Newman and Walden have also disclosed that as of press time, "Prison Break" sequel is still in the development stage. However, they are quite certain that the showrunners will be given a go-signal to proceed for the production. One main indicator for the high probability of "greenlight' is that Paul Scheuring, the creator and Executive producer of "Prison Break," has already finished penning the episode 1 including its series bible.

Despite the excellent news, fans major question for the upcoming fresh sequel is that, "Would Michael Scofield be returning to the show as well?" Gary Newman did not directly answer the question that was fired at him during the TCA summer press tour. But what he said was that it would make the brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, become relevant again.

Christian Post has another reveal of the upcoming "Prison Break" sequel. It says that the pure vision of the crime series is "to take a little bit of detour" from where it was left off. But Walden assured that the manner of presenting those detour would be very satisfying and "event-ized," which would definitely make fans to be excited in seeing their favorite characters once again in the small screen. It has been also reported that the returning of Michael Scofield in the fresh sequel would make the viewers disregard the plot on Scofield's death in Season 4 finale episode.

Time says that Gary Newman has told fans of "Prison Break" that the creator has penned a very detailed and incredible story which would justify why those jailbirds are back in the fresh sequel.

Though the "Prison Break Sequel" is still on its development stage, the crime series would be scheduled to premiere in your television screen in 2016.
