HTC One M9 users now receive Android 5.1 Lollipop, HTC One M8 still waiting as other HTC handsets confirmed to receive Android M

HTC One M9 is currently receiving an update of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The HTC One M8 is still waiting on getting the upgrade to this latest Operating System, according to the latest reports.

The Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile HTC One M9 users were reportedly received the Android 5.1 Lollipop last month. The Verizon was only the major U.S. carrier that was reported not releasing the firmware update, Headlines News wrote.

As for the HTC One M8, a report from the Masterherald stated that it will still have to wait a bit lengthier since the update Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was said about not being ready to equip on the device yet. The Android 5.0.2. Update in April, was the last update brought up to the device.

According to IBtimes, a tweet from Jeff Gordon, who works for Senior Global Online Communications for the Taiwanese firm, said that the HTC One M9, the HTC One M9+ and a lot of other HTC handsets will get the Android M update. In addition, another tweet from the vice president for product management at HTC, Mo Versi has stated that Android M will be made available for HTC One M8.

HTC has reportedly unveiled definite plans for the HTC One M8 to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update at least the U.K. However, the Company did not mention if this update will come accessible to users in other parts of the world. In the meantime, the HTC One M8 is still currently running the older versions of the Android Lollipop firmware, Masterherald wrote.

Last April this year, the users of HTC One M8 Google Play Edition were reportedly the only ones who were able to receive the Android 5.1 update. However, the HTC One M8 users should not be frustrated anymore, as a new report suggests that One M8 users will reportedly receive a direct Android M update even without receiving the Android 5.1 or Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates.
