Danny Boyle's 'Steve Jobs' was recently chosen to close the 59th BFI London Film Festival on October. A new opera in production will also focus on Jobs' life story.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming biopic will not be the first film from acclaimed-director Boyle to grace the prestigious film festival. His previous works 'Slumdog Millionaire' and the '127 Hours' also had the privilege of closing the annual event.

This year, it will be the European premier of the much awaited big-screen adaptation of Walter Isaacson's bestselling biography of the Apple legend to be portrayed by Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender. The affair will run from October 7-18 this year.

The film festival's director Clare Stewart also expressed her excitement over the choice of screening commending Boyle and Fassbender's team up, according to Variety. In the same article, Boyle commented, "If London was the cradle of the Industrial Revolution then San Francisco is the Bethlehem of the digital one. We had a brilliant time making this movie in Silicon Valley and I hope Londoners will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the modern world."

The movie was said to focus on three particular stages in Jobs' professional and personal life covering the years between 1984 and 1998. It included the product launches for Macintosh in 1984, the NeXT Cube in 1988 and the iMac in 1998.

It is also interesting to note that there is a new opera in the works sanctioned by the Santa Fe Opera, according to New York Times. It is reported to premiere in the year 2017 and will be entitled 'The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs'.

It will feature the music from Mason Bates and libretto from Mark Campell. It was revealed that production kept in close communication with Jobs' widow, Laurene, stating that they intend to give respectful treatment of Jobs' life for the operatic narrative.

'Steve Jobs' features Fassbender in the titular role together with co-stars Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan and Jeff Daniels as John Scully. The biopic is set for theatrical release on October 9, 2015 in the United States after an exclusive advanced screening at the New York Film Festival on October 3.
