CEO Chris Albrecht boldly announced that Da Vinci's Demons Season 3 is its last. Indeed, David Goyer's historical fantasy series that focuses on a young but tormented Leonardo da Vinci is taking its first out of ten goodbyes on October 24 in its premiere.
Alcbrecht further shared to Deadline as reported by Crossmap that the cancellation was not because of poor rating at all but was caused by the other shows doing better than it. The CEO of Starz explains that Da Vinci's Demons appeals to some of the same audiences with "Black Sails" and asserts further that "Ash vs Evil Dead" have also fan boys to support it just like what Da Vinci's Demons have.
Despite winning 2 Primetime Emmy Awards and having 6 nominations, Da Vinci's Demons' last season premieres at 8pm on October 24 according to Zapit. The end of Da Vinci's Demons in its 3rd season could be due to much number of viewers that the other shows like Power and Outlander have. To note from live-plus 3, Power in its second season averaged nearly 2 million viewers while Outlander averaged about 1.8 million viewers for its first season.
In line with the ending of Da Vinci's Demons, Goyer declares to Variety that indeed ending Leonardo's journey is bittersweet to him but he is hopeful that the dedicated fans of Da Vinci's Demons around the world would enjoy the final episodes as much as they did in making them. Managing Editor Carmi Zlotnik tells that Goyer is having a plan to portray the unknown early years of a genius to the Da Vinci that history knows today in its last season.
Even if the last upcoming season is the last of Da Vinci's Demons, Starz assured that this season's showrunner, John Shiban, is doing everything possible to satisfy the fans and to make them appreciate the maestro.
Don't miss the last premier of Da Vinci's Demons on October 24 in Starz.
