2NE1 preparing for comeback: Lead singer CL about to debut solo in America, American music market the next target for 2NE1

The famous four member South Korean girl group '2NE1' is one of the most famous groups in their country; the group is made up of CL, Minzy, Dara, and Park Bom and were formed by the famous YG Entertainment back in 2009. The girls haven't been active since 2014, but there's talk of a comeback from the 2NE1 girls as early as this year or next year by the latest.

According to KpopStarz, 2NE1 hasn't produced any new music since the beginning of 2014 and YG Entertainment's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk thinks it's about time that the girls make a comeback. 2NE1 released their last album 'Crush' together in February of 2014 and since then have been working on separate projects.

In a report from Inquisitr, the reason why the girls never made an earlier comeback was due to all 4 members working on their individual careers, however with the recent comeback of other K-pop groups such as 'Girl Generation,' 'Super Junior,' 'AOA,' and 'Sistar,' YG Entertainment has confirmed that they are preparing the comeback of the much loved 2NE1 girl group.

Lead singer CL continued with her singing career and has been busy preparing her debut for the American music department. With CL's music career about to boom anytime soon in the U.S, YG Entertainment thinks that it will help bring positive feedback and influence others to support 2NE1's return.

According to Yibada, CL's agency announced that there is no exact date when the Korean star will be making her debut, but confirmed once she has 2NE1 will follow with an album. Though the comeback in Korean is for certain, there is a possibility that 2NE1 will be hitting the American music market too.

It's been more than 17 months since 2NE1 last performed together, but hopefully with the current undergoing preparations and confrimations the girl band will be back in action before 2016 is over.
