King Leoric, also known as the Skeleton King, from "Diablo 3" will be featured soon as the newest champion in "Heroes of the Storm." Although no exact date has been announced, the powerful character will join the rest of the heroes soon.
Last month, Blizzard Entertainment released a spotlight video and announced that King Leoric will be the latest champion to be featured in "Heroes of the Storm." As reported by Polygon, the Skeleton King is the newest addition for the multiplayer online battle game, and also the third character to be imported from the "Diablo 3" franchise. Other "Diablo 3" characters were Johanna the Crusader and the Butcher who previously became part of the heroes.
In the recent spotlight video Blizzard Entertainment released, according to the PC Gamer, King Leoric was described as "a front-line bruiser with a unique kit" that blends "an odd mixture of damage, control, and mobility." The website also noted that his play style is very similar to other "World of Warcraft" characters, Diabloite Tyrael and Anub'arak. To the "Diablo 3" community, King Leoric's "good bit of tankiness" makes him one of the most powerful character there ever was.
According to reports, the Skeleton King's greatest advantage is his Undying trait. Even though he was killed by an opponent, players can still continue fighting enemies and helping allies in his ghost form, until he's fully resurrected and returned into his physical state.
Shacknews also managed to gather some information about some of King Leoric's fighting skills. His mentioned attacks are as follow:
- (Q) Skeletal Swing - This is a wide swing that can reach multiple foes, while also applying a slowing effect.
- (W) Drain Hope - This will shackle foes affected and absorb their health.
- (E) Wraith Walk - This is Leoric's teleport move. His body will get the Unstoppable condition, while his wraith form moves anywhere. Leoric will then teleport his body to that location, allowing him to get the drop on foes.
- (R1) Entomb - This ultimate ability creates a set of walls that can trap any enemies inside. At level 20, anyone caught in these walls will also be impaled by spikes that pop up underneath.
- (R2) Match of the Black King - Leoric marches forward and crushes anything in his path. At level 20, he'll conclude his march by tethering a poor, hapless foe.
No further details about King Leoric's appearance were mentioned, except perhaps, fans are assured of his welcome soon.
