Transformers 5 is expected to appear in the big screen as Michael Bay was recently confirmed to direct the upcoming sequel. While details are scarce for the film's plot, rumors suggest that it might include the demise of Optimus Prime. Ultra Magnus and Unicron are also rumored to appear in the movie.
According to Movie Pilot, Michael Bay will sit in the director's chair once again for the fifth installment of the franchise. Although it has not been confirmed yet, rumors have it that the upcoming sequel will see the return of Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.
While it seems like LaBeouf also gave some thought on the idea, however, he also admitted that it would not be that easy for him to return in the franchise.
"It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know its not that i don't think about it." He said. "But no, I highly doubt I'll be back for another one. I'll do another Michael Bay film but not Transformers." LaBeouf added, as reported by Franchise Herald.
Although some of the characters from the franchise are rumored to return, one of the characters might have to leave. Rumors are pretty persistent that the leader of the autobots, Optimus Prime might be killed in the upcoming movie.
On the other hand, there are also reports that Ultra Magnus, who was first introduced in the 1986 animated Transformers movie, might appear in the sequel as reported by Gospel Herald. In the animated movie, Ultra Magnus was a car carrier that took over Optimus Prime's role when he was killed by Megatron.
Aside from Ultra Magnus, the gigantic robot, Unicron is also rumored to enter the franchise. These rumors however, remain to be fan based, and must be treated with a grain of salt. More details are expected to be revealed as production for Transformers 5 progress. It is expected to hit theaters in 2017.
