Frozen 2 Update: Elsa's fun personality to be explored, says Chris Buck; Anna to become the next villain?

Frozen 2 is in the works and co-director Chris Buck revealed how it will explore the other side of Elsa's personality. Rumors mill also suggest that Anna could be presented as the next villain in the upcoming sequel.

Chris Buck recently shared how fans will see a whole new Elsa in the upcoming movie. After going through a tough phase being the misunderstood villain in the previous film, Elsa will finally be able to loosen up and let her bright side shine.

"[In Frozen] she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she's just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again. That's what was really good about the short -- we could have fun with Elsa. And that personality... you will see in the next one." Buck said, as reported by Cinemablend.

The director also shared that they are happy to be reunited with the characters especially Anna, Kristoff, Elsa, and Olaf. He also added that thay're excited to "see them grow, and see what happens next", as reported by Yahoo.

Although details are still scarce concerning the movie's plot, Latinos Post reported that a new villain might arrive in the upcoming movie. This villain is rumored to have the power of fire that will counter Elsa's ice power.

Aside from that, other rumors circulating around the movie suggest that Anna might become the next villain. This is after Frozen was compared to the story of "The Snow Queen" where similarities in the story were pointed out. Rumors suggest that the frozen heart might present its remaining effects that will cause Anna to move away from Olaf, Elsa, and Kristoff.

The cast for the upcoming Frozen 2 have not been confirmed yet, but both Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell have been showing their enthusiasm in returning to reprise their roles. Frozen 2 will be directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee.
