Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Spoilers: Dylan O'Brien describes Thomas and Teresa's connection as "authentic"; Thomas' back story to be explored

Thomas and the rest of the Gladers will soon return in the big screen in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. The Gladers are set to team up with the Cranks and enter the Scorch after being infected with The Flare. Film's male lead, Dylan O'Brien recently described the challenges that Thomas will face, and his character's connection with Teresa.

The Gladers are now out of the Maze, but unfortunately, it does not stop there, as they will now have to face the challenges of being in a new place, the Scorch. In /Film's interview with O'Brien, the actor revealed that his character, Thomas, will now have doubts of whether or not running out of the Maze was the right decision, while also trying to be strong for his team members.

Also, as reported by Christian Daily, he also described the love story of his character and Kaya Scondelario's Teresa, saying it is a connection and that it's authentic.

"In the first one, Thomas and Teresa, what I love about their relationship is that it's a connection," he said. "It's familiar in a world that's completely unfamiliar to these kids. Literally just being like rebirthed essentially. They to one another are the one piece of memory that they have and it makes me feel safe, and I think that's beautiful."

"It's not necessarily like stop and kissing in the woods, that never happens, and that's what I love too, it's so authentic," O'Brien added.

According to Movie News Guide, Teresa will be separated from Thomas, and the Gladers in order for Team B to be introduced. Thomas and the rest of the Gladers will be infected by WCKD with The Flare, and they will now have to go through The Scorch in order to be cured.

Aside from that, fans will see one of Thomas' team member's betrayal, and the return of Gally as he was seen in the trailer, screaming inside a tube. Thomas' back story might also be tackled in the upcoming film.

Maze Runner: Scorch Trials is directed by Wes Ball, from the bestselling book series by James Dashner. The cast also includes, Kaya Scondelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Aidan Gillen, Ki Hong Lee, Giancarlo Esposito, Lili Taylor, Rosa Salazar, and Barry Pepper. It is set to hit theaters in September 18, 2015.
