Green Lantern Update: Lance Gross drops hints on social media; Tyrese Gibson confirms meeting with Warner Bros

Green Lantern is currently one of the vital characters in the DC Cinematic Universe who still does not have a confirmed actor. Furious 7 actor, Tyrese Gibson, has been vocal about his desire to play the role on social media, however, a new name has surfaced and rumors suggest that he might also be on the running for the coveted role.

In the last San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that Warner Bros and DC's plan for a Green Lantern movie will be pushed through. The upcoming film will be Green Lantern Corps and will reportedly feature a lot of humans possessing powers from the green source material.

No actor has been confirmed to play the role yet, however, as reported by Screen Rant, Furious 7's Tyrese Gibson has been pretty open about his desire to play the role, and is even teasing about it on social media.

He also previously revealed that he already had meetings with Warner Bros. "I've already had a couple of meetings at Warner Bros., so we'll see what happens. I do believe that there needs to be more black superheroes out there, but that's not even my motivation," he said.

However, according to Cinemablend, Tyrese Gibson is not the only actor whose aiming to don the superhero's suit as "The Last Fall" actor Lance Gross also recently dropped hints about the character in his social media accounts.

As reported by Franchise Herald, Gross fuelled rumors when he posted a photo of a green wreath that is shaped like the Green Lantern ring. Gross captioned the photo saying, "In Brightest Day." His post reportedly garnered positive comments from the fans.

Neither Gibson not Gross has confirmed their involvement with the upcoming Green Lantern Corps yet. However, more official information about the upcoming DC movie is expected to be released in the coming months.
