Heroes of the Storm New Game Patch Promises New Monk Character, New Battleground and Rewards

By

Blizzard Entertainment released the official game patch for the Heroes of the Storm last August 18. The gist, new characters, new battleground, and a whole lot of other surprises are in store for loyal players of the Heroes of the Storm, not to mention Diablo 3.

Joining in the Heroes of the Storm character-roster is Kharazim, the Monk of Ivrogod, who is seemingly based and had said to have crossed over from Diablo 3. Players may choose from one of his three traits - Insight, Transcendence, and Iron Fists by using the Talents panel. He also comes with a standard menu of basic and heroic abilities. Those who will appear, perhaps in the coming months, are Rexxar from Warcraft and Artanis from StarCraft.

On the other hand, the new war arena aptly called the Infernal Shrines, is a three-lane battleground with three shrines, all of these can gather power alternately. When triggered, either side of the shrine can release waves of guardians to defend it. Gamespot reported that although this battleground had gone live during the PTR last week, Blizzard said to expect the map to come to the live game at some point after the patch, which will be next week.

According to the Heroes of the Storm patch notes, Diablo 3 players who will log into the Heroes of the Storm in the next three weeks will have the Diablo Hero permanently. Also, beginning with Season 4, Diablo 3 players who reach 70 with a Seasonal character will receive Malthael's Phantom in Heroes of the Storm. And when they reach Level 12, they will receive a new Heroes-themed portrait border and pennant in Diablo 3.

On the other hand, the mechanics to the Dynamic Bundles at the in-game shop was simply explained in a Kotaku report: Bundles that contain three or more items are now considered as Dynamic Bundles in the shop. Its price will be automatically reduced if the player already owns one or more of the items that are part of that Bundle. Two-item Bundles are not dynamic, and players will be unable to purchase a two-item Bundle if they already own one of the items it contains.

Other patch notes may be hard to digest. Players can refer to Matt Cooper's, game designer, insights on the changes found in the new patch, explaining why they made such.
