'Avengers: infinity War Part 1' is speculated to have more villains for the heroes to fight against, not just Thanos. It was also revealed that a casting call for Adam Warlock is currently on-going.
In an announcement by Spoiler TV, auditions had been made in Los Angeles, California to fill the supporting role of Magus as another villain to battle it out with the Avengers. This speculation seemed to endorse previous fan theories regarding an appearance of another antagonist besides the infamous Thanos.
According to Cinema Blend, the Magus will battle it out with the heroes together with Thanos in the two-part installation. He was formerly known as Adam Warlock before his evil side split from his original self. Warlock was trained to become the ultimate weapon against Thanos before his preparation ultimately drove him insane.
The Magus may possibly not actually appear in actual physical form in the movie but he will use the Infinity Gauntlet to recreate an evil universe with dopplegangers of the superheroes. Rumors of an on-going casting call for Adam Warlock further strengthened the Magus theory.
In another article by Movie Pilot, it was speculated that the super-being Lady Death and a newly resurrected Red Skull would accompany Thanos instead of Magus. Death, Thanos' love interest and the source of his greed to destroy the universe and all life in it, doesn't appear to be part of any franchise and Marvel could simply do whatever it wants with the character. Death is rarely seen and rarely speaks in the comic books.
Nazi Villain Red Skull was also rumored to return in 'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' even though he was killed off in 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. The article stated that Lady Death would bring Red Skull back from the dead to aid Thanos in his fight against the Avengers. Hugo Weaving, who played the villain, said in an interview that his contract with Marvel was a multi-picture deal.
However, he wasn't interested in coming back as Red Skull. He said, "I signed a multi-picture deal for Captain America. I think the tendency, with those films, would be to probably not bring a villain back. And it's not something I would want to do again. I did sign up for a number of pictures and I suppose, contractually, I would be obliged to, if they forced me to."
'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' will be released in theaters on May 4, 2018. Part 2 will follow on May 3, 2019. It will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and produced by Kevin Feige. The Avengers are a group of superhuman defenders created to protect the world from evil.
