Chris Hemsworth sports the tan-and-orange "Ghostbusters" uniform as he cruises the Boston set of the upcoming female-led reboot. Paul Feig's new take on the supernatural comedy film is slated to open in cinemas July next year.
There has been quite a lot of anticipation building up around Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters" reboot ever since it was announced that he is doing a female version. Just yesterday, the fans' excitement has been hyped up more after Chris Hemsworth's first photo as the film's receptionist has been finally revealed. The Australian hunk is seen wearing a geeky, rimmed glass in his tan-and-orange "Ghostbusters" uniform while riding a motorcycle in the Boston, Massachusetts set.
If the 32-year-old actor holds a powerful hammer in the popular superhero franchise "Thor"; in this photo, he carries the newest version of the ghost-capturing proton pack on the back of his bike. It was noted that his inclusion in the project was announced by the director back in June. He will star as the only male in this gender-bender version of the 1984 original, and will portray Kevin, the male version of the bespectacled receptionist, Janine.
Feig's "Ghostbusters" reboot also stars Melissa McCarthy ("Spy") as Abby Yates, Kristen Wiig ("Bridesmaids") as Patty Tolan, Kate McKinnon ("Saturday Night Live") as Jillian Holtzman, and Leslie Jones ("Lottery Ticket") as Erin Gilbert. As per Coming Soon, Andy Garcia is also slated to appear in the film as the Mayor of New York City, alongside Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh and Neil Casey as Hawkins, Rourke and the film's villain, respectively. The original film's Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd are also making a cameo.
Directed by Feig from a screenplay he co-wrote with Katie Dippold, the all-female "Ghostbusters" is expected to open in cinemas on July 15, 2016.
