Dying Light has shown great promise so far, since the concept itself was already sufficient to make zombie fans go insane. More so, the game developers stated that to keep living up the zombie hype, they would personally find it a pleasure to work on other zombie games given the condition, such as the awaited Dead Island 2.
Tymon Smektala, Dying Light Producer, was very passionate with his craft and stated that he would actually love to be able to put work on Dead Island 2. According to Game Spot, Smektala intends on no other than the pleasure to be able to get his hands on the development of Dead Island 2.
A recent report by Gameranx clarified that the Berlin-based studio Yager has cut its development services to Deep Silver, Dead Island 2 publisher. Smektala then voiced out and was quoted, "For us, that was sad news. When something like that happens in the industry it's always sad news. You're never happy that some other developer failed, because it could have been us, basically. And another thing that added to the feeling of sadness and disappointment was the fact that Dead Island is our child. It's a title that we imagined, we developed. We made this game so we still have a very strong connection to that IP."
With so much hanging in the balance of Dead Island 2's future, Dying Light and the team behind the development has of course, hoped that the Dead Island franchise will not cease to continue their expansion. In addition to this, Smektala said as well that he really did love the first Dead Island game, and if at the moment, there is no developer to take on the duty, he would not hesitate to be the one to do so, at all.
Smektala made it a point that his comments do not correspond to that of the company, and that the statements mentioned were his personal takes on the matter. As recently delivered by Gamespresso, Dying Light "The Following" is their main focus as of the moment and looks to make this expansion an extremely pleasant one to note.
The developers of Dying Light would not hold back in contributing their skills to the said franchise, and fans can only hope that Dead Island 2 will not trek on a rougher road than what it was already on.
