"Better Call Saul" Season 2 will not only be focusing on Jimmy McGill turning into his alter ego Saul Goodman as it will also show McGill trying to impress himself and not his brother, Charles. In the show's first season, Jimmy always looked for ways to impress his brother but failed to do so.
According to International Business Times, "Better Call Saul" Season 2 will focus on new twists and turns and that Jimmy might want to prove himself worthy and impress himself rather than impressing his brother or anyone else for that matter. Bob Odenkirk's character might have been tired from everyone else saying that he has failed in Season 1 so his perspective could change in the show's upcoming season.
The creator of the show, Peter Gould, shared, "So much of what Jimmy does in season one is to please his brother. To try to win his brother's approval. So who is Jimmy without that goal? Who is Jimmy if he's not thinking about "Is this going to prove to Chuck that I'm a good person?" What is he without those ideas?," Christian Post reported.
Gould also talked about Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman as he pointed out that he thinks all people have these moments in their lives where an idea pops and everything changes. Gould added that the change of Jimmy being dramatized and shown in the AMC spin-off series is the opportunity that the protagonist wanted to have after he rationalizes about the direction that his life is directed at.
Jimmy will also reportedly be doing a lot of new things as he becomes his alter ego and it will be something that will please him. Gould remained tight-lipped about the details regarding this. Meanwhile, the show just won an award during the TV Critics Association Awards according to Cross Map.
"Better Call Saul" Season 2 is expected to be back in the small screen by 2016.
