'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Update: Possibility Still In Limbo, Showrunner M. Night Shyamalan Talks About Show

By

It remains unknown if "Wayward Pines" will have a second season as there have been no reports yet and no confirmation yet if FOX will renew the hit show. Meanwhile, the showrunner of the series, M. Night Shyamalan, talked about how "Wayward Pines" got him back on track.

In a report by Blaster, M. Night Shyamalan is known for being that director who does not get a lot of praises. He directed "The Last Airbender," "After Earth," and "The Happening." Shyamalan is aware of the fact that these films were a flop and so he thanked "Wayward Pines" as it is slowly getting him back on track in terms of the success of his career.

Shyamalan actually produced another movie and it's called "The Visit," a low-budget and intimate thriller that is creating quite a buzz in the movie world. According to the publication, Shyamalan had to spend $5 million of his own money to make "The Visit" and it is said to feature a new technique in the filmmaking ways of Shyamalan. "The Visit" will be out in cinemas this September 11.

Meanwhile, "Wayward Pines" Season 2 is still on a limbo if it's a go or a no-go by FOX. The network has not yet announced any confirmation regarding this despite season 1 ending months ago. In a report by MNR daily, Shyamalan said that the season 1 finale was designed to tell the viewers the story is yet to continue as he hopes for a second season. At the end of Season 1, Ethan Burke's son Ben woke up from a three-year coma after successfully preventing the abbies from reaching the top floor where people of Wayward Pines were at.

However, Executive producer of the show, Chad Hodge, said that the season 1 was already the end of the show and it was not meant to tease a season 2, Youth Health Mag reported.
