There are new things that Google's Project Fi can offer such as account management, improved international roaming experience, and improved activation and connectivity experience. These innovations can be used few days from now in Nexus 6 phones that are unlocked or bought in Project Fi site.
One of the updates is the ability to manage account not only in Nexus 6 but to other devices which run Android 5.1 version and above, Android Authority said. Hangouts must be installed to be able to set up and manage account properly. Subscribers will also be able to check the data usage, verify monthly statements, and get support at any time.
Another update for Project Fi is the reliability that it can give in detecting 120 countries where there is coverage when travelling, Android Headline mentioned. This capability can give great international roaming experience to subscribers.
Related report said that Project Fi application will automatically or manually be updated depending on the setting of the phone.
On the other hand, Android Headline said that Project Fi use Wifi and cell networks for services such as talk or text. Domestic calls or text are unlimited while international call costs 20¢ per minute, international data costs $10 per GB, and international unlimited texts are unlimited. Phone numbers can be kept by subscribers with these domestic and international usages.
Lately, Google launched a program for Project Fi subscribers to swap damaged to brand new Nexus 6 for a cost of $100.
Considering the Nexus 6 itself, its specs and features speak of competitiveness. Some include a 13-MP rear camera with OIS, auto-focus and dual LED flash.
