"American Ultra" cast Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart hit the red carpet on Tuesday (August 18) for the premiere of their upcoming comedy action film. Stewart and Eisenberg have received mixed reviews for their turn in the action-comedy, in which they star as 'stoners' who are under attack from the CIA.
Eisenberg and Stewart are the lead stars in the comedy-action flick "American Ultra" that hit the theaters on Friday. Stewart brought her Twilight co-actor Taylor Lautner as her date in the Los Angeles premier of the new film.
Despite admitting to feeling awkward at premieres in the past, the actress appeared confident as she posed to the camera with Lautner and with co-stars Jesse Eisenberg, Connie Britton and Topher Grace.
In an interview, Kristen Stewart said that she agreed to do "American Ultra" because it gave her a chance to reunite with her "Adventureland" co-star Jesse Eisenberg. She gave her nod without reading the complete script because of Eisenberg's presence in the movie.
"As soon as I heard that Jesse was attached to a script that was sent my way, before I even read it, I was almost certain that -- and considering that they wanted me to do it -- I was like, oh cool, this is my next job, before I even got to the end of it." The Twilight star stated.
Eisenberg and Stewart previously played an on-screen couple in 2009's "Adventureland" and Stewart says she was happy to reunite with Eisenberg.
The film follows a small-town couple named Mike, played by Eisenberg, and Phoebe, played by Stewart. Mike, an avid weed smoker, discovers he is a highly trained and lethal sleeper agent that was once part of a secret CIA program. When his skills are activated he has to use them to save himself and his girlfriend.
"American Ultra" is Directed by Nima Nourizadeh ("Project X") and written by Max Landis ("Chronicle;" son of the film director John Landis).
