Popular Mad World Trailer Makes a Comeback in ‘Gears of War’ Ultimate Edition

Gamers of "Gears of War" will go on a throwback once they get to see the latest trailer of "Gears of War Ultimate Edition." The famous Mad World trailer returns and was remade into a whole new one with the latest in-game footage, showing "Gears of War" at its finest.

Xbox came up with a cool video game ad back in 2006 for "Gears of War," with a Tears for Fears cover of Mad World by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules. Creativity Online recalls that the trailer was directed by Joseph Kosinski of Oblivion and Tron. The trailer stood out for its cinematic quality, which made it highly recognized and described as "iconic" by the gaming community.

After releasing two games and a prequel, Xbox launches "Gears of War Ultimate edition" with its tribute Mad World trailer. A CG footage of the first "Gears of War" was shown as an opening scene in the new trailer, and then it segues to "Gears of War Ultimate Edition" in-game footage, as shared in Xbox Wire. The HD game was remastered to 60 FPS and 1080 p.

If you haven't seen the Mad World trailer, it shows Marcus Fenix, the game's protagonist, running through the Sera streets as he fights with Horde. Gary Jules version of Mad World is playing on the background while the game audio is muted. Geek shares the original trailer on their page and shares that it gives off an emotional feel to its combat-action scenes.

Since the "Gears of War Ultimate Edition" trailer is a remake of the original Mad World one, it doesn't show a shot per shot footage of the earlier trailer. The new trailer's game audio is also muted in this one and still used Mad World as its background music.

"Gears of War Ultimate Edition" gets released on August 25, including five extra campaign chapters of the PC version. It is now available for digital pre-order and pre-download.
