'Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F' gets an October release date for its DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital HD home video releases. Its theatrical debut received massive success in domestic and international box offices and received an extended encore run in North America.
The latest anime-inspired live-action adaptation will be arriving in homes across the globe, specifically North America, on October 9, 2015 for Digital HD and October 20, 2015 for Blu-Ray and DVD releases according to Coming Soon. Distributor FUNimation Entertainment announced the news after the end of its theatrical run that earned a whopping $8 million in North America alone.
There will also be a collector's edition of the home video delivered in premium packaging featuring four holographic propaganda postcards of Frieza, the film's main antagonist, in addition to 50 minutes of exclusive content such as extra behind-the-scenes footage as well as cast interviews.
According to IGN, all three video versions of the film are currently on pre-order at website DragonBallZ.com. The report also stated that an online purchase will get the buyer a chance to own an exclusive Shenron Dragon T-Shirt for an extra payment of $10. The film recently debuted in big-screens earlier this month and found itself at the top 10 of the highest grossing Japanese anime of all time.
The success of the newest installment in the 'Dragon Ball Z' franchise earned it an extended encore run in North America, according to ComicBook.com. Vice-President of Theatrical Event Distribution at FUNimation Entertainment David Wengrod said, "Because of the ongoing demand from both fans and theaters owners, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' will continue to screen as an 'encore release' at various theaters across North America thru August 17." The animated film opened with $1.97 million on its opening night in the domestic box office.
'Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F' is part of one of the longest-running and most popular anime franchises in the world. It is the 20th film in the franchise and features the return of Frieza, one of the greatest anime villains of all time. Once killed off in a previous battle, he was revived by his loyal followers by means of collective dragon balls and pursues his evil plot to take revenge on Earth's Z-fighters specifically Goku and Vegeta.
