"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" Is Bigger Unveiling Its First Clip And TV Spot Online

By

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" has unveiled its first clip on Friday last week. Following the clip, 20th Century Fox has now also brought online the first "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" TV spot.

The new "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" clip features Dylan O'Brien (Thomas) being interrogated by Game of Thrones star Aiden Gillen (Janson) of the mysterious WCKD organization. Based on James Dashner's "The Maze Runner Trilogy, "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" is the second installment from the 2014 "The Maze Runner" movie.

It follows Thomas (O'Brien), Teresa (Kaya Scodelario) and the rest of the maze survivors to the desolate Scorch landscape. The group team up with other fighters to take on WCKD and uncover the secrets it has been hiding.

Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito joins the cast as does Nathalie Emmanuel, another Game of Thrones veteran, who will play Harriet, the leader of a group of girls who meet up with Thomas and his allies after they also escape the maze. Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Ki Hong Lee are set to reprise their roles from the first film along with O'Brien and Scodelario.

Leading the film, O'Brien shared with Entertainment Weekly that his MTV's hit series Teen Wolf was his training ground. "It literally became my acting school, where I went every day for six months every year," says O'Brien. He has debuted as Stiles Stilinski on Teen Wolf and has taped the 80-plus episodes since it launched in 2011

Director Wes Ball talked about O'Brien's role as Thomas in Scorch Trilas and he stated: "Thomas is more mature and a little unsure of himself. I think Dylan really ate it up."

In a Collider article, Producer Wyck Godfrey xplained that "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" will be a bigger film. He said that the film will be about discovering the outside world. "Everything they wanted to know in the first movie, they start to discover in this movie and it gets much bigger so, by its very nature, there are many more locations, there's a bigger cast."

The third and final installment of the series, "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is set to be released in February, 2017 with Wes Ball attached to direct. "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" will be released in cinemas in September 18.
