The hilarious duo of undercover cops, Jenko and Schmidt are set to continue bringing more laughs in the upcoming 23 Jump Street. Channing Tatum recently released a photo on Twitter about the possible plot of the upcoming film, while Phil Lord and and Chris Miller revealed that they might not sit in the director's chair for the sequel.
Jenko and Schmidt are up for new adventures in the upcoming 23 Jump Street, and even though it was hinted in the previous movie's post-credit sequence that they might enter medical school for their next mission, Channing Tatum posted a photo on Twitter suggesting they might actually go Soviet this time around.
As reported by MTV, Tatum posted a photo of himself with a fake Hungarian mustache, along with a furry coat, and hat. However, Tatum did not specify anything related to 23 Jump Street in his post and captioned the photo saying "Let's just not even go into what this about?".
It is not clear yet whether the upcoming film will only focus on the adorable and hilarious duo or if a Men in Black crossover will come into fruition. However, as reported by We Got This Covered, Chris Miller revealed during the Television Critics Association Press tour that they've found a way to incorporate the pseudo-sequel ideas in the previous film into the upcoming film.
"We've found a way that we love that makes those imagined sequels canonical and yet does something that we haven't told you about yet. The sequels are canon." He said.
As reported by Screen Rant, Phil Lord and Miller were two of the biggest contributors to the success of the first two films, acting as its directors. But Miller recently revealed that he and Lord might not be the helmsmen for the upcoming sequel.
"We are hard at work on 23 Jump Street, which I think we will probably just produce from a time standpoint. We've been working really hard. We've got a really good first draft of a script in and we're really excited about it." Miller said. But even though they're not sitting as directors, they will be on board as the sequel's producers.
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are expected to reprise their roles as Jenko and Schmidt. Rodney Rothman is set to write the film's script, but no director and release date has been attached to the film yet. More details about 23 Jump Street are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
